Air fryer frozen vegetables are beyond easy to make and they’re tasty as can be with a simple drizzle of olive oil and a dash of salt and pepper. If you want to dress them up a bit, try sprinkling some french fry seasoning on them for extra flavor!

Air Fryer Frozen Vegetables

I realize it sounds a little bit crazy, but would you believe that a package of frozen mixed vegetables can be air fried to crispy tender greatness – AND that this was an afternoon snack I devoured? I’m here to tell you that air fryer frozen vegetables really are a great side dish or snack.

So, grab a bag or three of frozen vegetables next time you’re at the grocery store and you won’t have any excuse not to have a terrific vegetable side dish for your dinner even when the refrigerator’s produce drawers are empty.

Frozen Vegetables in the Air Fryer

Frozen vegetables have to be one of the easiest things I have put in the air fryer yet. I would not have thought it was possible for it to work and not end up with a pile of mush. However, it was so incredibly easy, and fast.

When I first bought an air fryer I honestly wasn’t sure how much use it would get. But I am finding I love being able to make small servings when the whole family isn’t home.

I use the COSORI Air Fryer for all of my air fryer recipes. I’m partial to a square basket air fryer as I find it easier to fit more food into the basket. This is a 5.8QT air fryer, one of the largest machines I’ve found that works effectively.

The machine is a bit retro with simple knob controls. It turns out that I really like the basic settings and ability to set the time and temp like a traditional appliance. I’ve used a few different air fryers with pre-programmed settings and I found I was still tweaking the times.

This air fryer is surprisingly easy to clean and the two-part basket locks together (it’s literally impossible for it to detach the way some do) until you open the latch and then push the button to release it. I simply wipe down the baskets with a sudsy dish scrub brush or sponge, rinse and let them air dry on the counter.

How to Air Fry Frozen Vegetables

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Place the mixed vegetables in a bowl and toss with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper, toss again to coat.
  2. Place the frozen vegetables in a single layer in the basket or directly on the rack. Fry the vegetables for 5 minutes. If you are using a basket-style air fryer toss the basket at about 5 minutes and fry for another 5-6 minutes for even cooking. The pieces should be ever so slightly crisp on the outsides when done.

How Long to Cook Frozen Vegetables in Air Fryer

Cooking time in an air fryer always depends on the size, quantity, and spacing of your items.

Smaller-sized vegetable pieces work best, spread into just one layer. Don’t overfill your basket in an inches-thick layer or you won’t get enough airflow. Doing this will give you a cook time of about 10-11 minutes.

Frozen Vegetable Recipes

Frozen vegetables are just fine on their own with a little time in the air fryer and light seasoning. Steamer bags are great but the vegetables are just a little more tasty when air fried or roasted. Broccoli and cauliflower are perfect choices.

Delightfully fresh tasting and tender-crisp air fryer frozen asparagus is surprisingly easy and flavorful.

Not to mention the leftovers are perfect to toss into soups or a stir fry the next day. I usually just toss any extras in the refrigerator right into the soup or stir fry whether the recipe calls for it or not. I love using them up in chicken pot pie.
