FAQs

How do you heat a bone-in honey baked ham? ›

How long does it take to cook a ham with the bone-in? ›

Cooking Temperature and Time

A half ham weighing between five and eight pounds requires 35 to 40 minutes of roasting at 325°F per pound. For whole bone-in hams weighing 12 and 16 pounds, cook the ham at 325°F for 22 to 26 minutes per pound. The internal temperature should be 145°F.

How long do you cook a HoneyBaked ham? ›

Bake at 275 degrees F for 2.5-3 hours, until an internal temperature of 140 degrees F is reached (3 hours total is about right for a 10lb ham, you may need more or less according to the size of your ham.) In a small pot, combine honey, butter, brown sugar, garlic, mustard and pepper.

How do you cook a bone-in ham that is fully cooked? ›

For best results, heat in a 300°F oven to an internal temperature of 120°F (approximately 13-15 minutes per pound). Do not overcook, as this will dry the ham.

Do you heat Honey Baked Ham with foil on? ›

If heating is desired, we recommend heating only those slices you plan to use and not the entire ham. However, you can wrap individual spiral slices in aluminum foil and heat them. If using a conventional oven, cover the entire ham (or portion to be used) and heat at 275 degrees F for about 10 minutes per pound.

How long to heat a precooked bone-in ham? ›

WARMING HAM

Heat oven to 325°F. Remove all packaging materials. Place ham, cut/flat side down, on rack in shallow roasting pan; cover tightly with aluminum foil. Heat approximately 18 to 23 minutes per pound until heated through.

Do you bake a bone-in ham covered or uncovered? ›

If you don't cover your ham while cooking it will quickly dry out. Instead: Put some aluminum foil over your ham while it's cooking. It is recommended that the ham is covered for at least half of the cooking process and only removed during the last half when you glaze it.

Should a bone-in ham be room temperature before cooking? ›

While baking a show-stopping ham is simple and easy, be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to bring the ham to room temperature for an hour (for even heat distribution) as well as up to 2 1/2 hours to bake it long, low and slow, depending on your ham's size.

Can you overcook a bone-in ham? ›

It's easy to overcook ham out of fear that it's underdone. That's why we recommend using an instant-read thermometer to know exactly when your ham has come to a safe internal temperature.

How long do you take honey baked ham out of refrigerator before serving? ›

For serving, we recommend taking Ham or Turkey out of refrigeration for 30 minutes prior to serving. If you choose to refrigerate your products, Honey Baked Ham can be refrigerated for 7 to 10 days and Honey Baked Turkey Breast can be refrigerated for 5 to 7 days.

What is the difference between bone-in and boneless honey baked ham? ›

A bone-in ham makes for a great visual presentation on the table, and is perfect for carving. And it's not just there for show — a ham bone is an excellent starter for flavorful soups and stocks. Boneless hams are easier to carve, and better suited for sandwiches. There's no real difference in flavor or texture.

How many minutes per pound do you cook a ham with a bone-in it? ›

Bake uncovered until the internal temperature reaches 160° (18–20 minutes per pound for a 10–15-lb. ham; 20 minutes per pound for a 5–7-lb. ham; or 35 minutes per pound for a 3–4-lb. shank or butt portion).

How long to cook a 10 lb fully cooked ham at 350 degrees? ›

Preheat the oven to 350 F. Place the ham on a rack in a large baking pan and add about 1/4- to 1/2 inch of water to the pan. If the ham is labeled "fully cooked" (does not require heating), heat it in the oven for about 10 minutes per pound, or to an internal temperature of 140 F.

When to put glaze on ham? ›

The glaze should not be applied until the final hour to 30 minutes, in order to avoid burning the sugars. What you're going to do with the glaze ingredients is just combine most of them into a paste, and then apply it to the ham. After that, the heat in your oven will take care of everything.

How long does it take to heat a bone in spiral ham? ›

How long does it take to reheat a spiral cut ham? According to most package instructions it takes 12-15 minutes per pound at 275°F.
