A half ham weighing between five and eight pounds requires 35 to 40 minutes of roasting at 325°F per pound. For whole bone-in hams weighing 12 and 16 pounds, cook the ham at 325°F for 22 to 26 minutes per pound. The internal temperature should be 145°F.

Bake at 275 degrees F for 2.5-3 hours, until an internal temperature of 140 degrees F is reached (3 hours total is about right for a 10lb ham, you may need more or less according to the size of your ham.) In a small pot, combine honey, butter, brown sugar, garlic, mustard and pepper.
How do you cook a bone-in ham that is fully cooked? ›
For best results, heat in a 300°F oven to an internal temperature of 120°F (approximately 13-15 minutes per pound). Do not overcook, as this will dry the ham.
Do you heat Honey Baked Ham with foil on? ›
If heating is desired, we recommend heating only those slices you plan to use and not the entire ham. However, you can wrap individual spiral slices in aluminum foil and heat them. If using a conventional oven, cover the entire ham (or portion to be used) and heat at 275 degrees F for about 10 minutes per pound.

Heat oven to 325°F. Remove all packaging materials. Place ham, cut/flat side down, on rack in shallow roasting pan; cover tightly with aluminum foil. Heat approximately 18 to 23 minutes per pound until heated through.
Do you bake a bone-in ham covered or uncovered? ›
If you don't cover your ham while cooking it will quickly dry out. Instead: Put some aluminum foil over your ham while it's cooking. It is recommended that the ham is covered for at least half of the cooking process and only removed during the last half when you glaze it.

While baking a show-stopping ham is simple and easy, be sure to leave yourself plenty of time to bring the ham to room temperature for an hour (for even heat distribution) as well as up to 2 1/2 hours to bake it long, low and slow, depending on your ham's size.

It's easy to overcook ham out of fear that it's underdone. That's why we recommend using an instant-read thermometer to know exactly when your ham has come to a safe internal temperature.

For serving, we recommend taking Ham or Turkey out of refrigeration for 30 minutes prior to serving. If you choose to refrigerate your products, Honey Baked Ham can be refrigerated for 7 to 10 days and Honey Baked Turkey Breast can be refrigerated for 5 to 7 days.
A bone-in ham makes for a great visual presentation on the table, and is perfect for carving. And it's not just there for show — a ham bone is an excellent starter for flavorful soups and stocks. Boneless hams are easier to carve, and better suited for sandwiches. There's no real difference in flavor or texture.
