Caramel Apple Crisp Pizza - a dessert pizza you will want to make all year around and not just in the Fall when apples are in season!

Caramel Apple Crisp Pizza (Cactus Pizza CopyCat) - Recipe Diaries (1)

This is a recipe I posted way back in 2014 and ever since the 2ID recipe was rediscovered, I've been wanting to go back and re-make some of my older recipes like this caramel apple crisp pizza more weight watcher friendly. You see, the original recipe called for 2 sticks of butter, a lot of brown sugar and and an unhealthy pizza crust.

In order to make this recipe lighter, I used a recipe for Weight Watchers Apple Crisp that I had on this site already, and the pizza crust for 2ID. Apple Crisp on top of pizza? HELLO!!!!! Dessert pizza will be your new fav if it already isn't. I used a red variety of apples but I'm sure honey crisp or any other type of apple would be fine. Even green apples. The sauce used to drizzle over the top of the pizza was just sugar free caramel sauce. Learn how to make the recipe and watch the video below.

If you like apples try Apple Pie Nachos, Air Fryer Apple Crisp, or Baked Apples.

Cactus Pizza Pizza Ranch

My obsession with dessert type pizzas goes back to the Pizza Ranch. They have really awesome dessert pizzas there and my favorite was this struessel topping pizza and it had a frosting drizzled on top that, that was to die for. I just love dessert type pizzas and now with this 2ID dough recipe it is easier to make them more WW friendly. 🙂

Ingredients Needed

  • Greek yogurt - is considered great for a variety of reasons. It is typically higher in protein and lower in sugar than regular yogurt, making it a good choice for those looking to maintain a balanced diet.
  • Self-rising flour - Self-rising flour is a type of flour that already contains baking powder and salt, which are essential ingredients in many baked goods.
  • Apples diced, I used Ruby Red but I think honey crisp would be really good
  • Cinnamon - is a spice that comes from the inner bark of several trees from the genus Cinnamomum.
  • Sugar - Or regular granulated sugar, I do not use sugar substitutes in any of my recipes but if you know the conversions feel free to do so
  • Flour - is a type of wheat flour that is commonly used in cooking and baking. It is versatile and can be used for a variety of recipes, including bread, cakes, cookies, and pastries.
  • Oats - Also known as rolled oats, are a type of oatmeal that has been steamed and rolled to create flat, oval-shaped flakes. They are a popular breakfast food and can be cooked on the stove or in the microwave with water or milk.
  • Light butter - is the most commonly used type of butter in baking, as it allows for more control over the amount of salt in the recipe.
  • Caramel Sauce: I used Smuckers Sugar-Free Caramel Sauce
  • See the recipe card below for a full list of ingredients and measurements.

The butter is missing ? How much?

  3. Jenna says

I updated the recipe, just the cinnamon was missing.

Am I the only one who doesn't see how much sugar and cinnamon to use??

Jenna, thanks! And thanks for sharing your great posts every week!

  6. Betty says

The "crust" is just magically in the video and the recipe ingredients without instruction. Is there a secret to it? As just flour and yogurt consistency seems to be sticky and not conducive to using a rolling pin unlike traditional pizza crust. Do you just pat it out on a floured board?
    Thank you
