A sweet sense of pride, joy and more than 150 years of family tradition is what you’ll find at Doscher’s Candy Company in their Newtown location.The company is known for its candy canes and French Chew.“A lot of people don't realize that French Chew is made right here in Cincinnati,” Vice President of Sales Greg Clark said. “We follow what was always done with the candy cane-making process from 100 years ago. We haven't changed a thing."From a small convection truck to a fully functioning candy factory, Doscher's Candy is thriving as the oldest candy cane company in the United States.“We don't mass-produce them, we take the time to knead them and fold them and put the stripes on by hand. Everything we do is hands-on approach,” Clark said.From mixing to kneading to forming the candy all by hand, each piece is specially made. Doscher's said it has already shipped thousands of candy canes and candy buttons to retailers all over this season so far. The candy has made more cameos throughout the Tri-State than you might've realized.
