We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio about 3 years ago. Have never really like it. It doesnt add enough water to the wash cycle unless you use the bulky setting, which fills the tub up the entire way, so wastes water. It would have been nice to choose your water level like you could on the old machines. Now it wont drain completely and wont spin totally. Ive tried using the drain/spin cycle 2-3 times extra and it still wont spin all the water out. Ive noticed that there is still water in the drum, you can hear it slosh when you move the drum, so I wonder - has anyone ever been told there is a filter in there somewhere that might be clogged keeping it from draining completely? My husband thinks that maybe all the water in the bottom of the drum is not letting it spin because its throwing it off balance. And yes, it stops before the cycle is complete and just sits there and blinks and you have to unplug it to clear the cycle. What a pain. We will never again buy a Whirlpool and I absolutely do not recommend Whirlpool washers. I have a Maytag as well and have not yet had problems with it. Bought it at the same time we bought the Cabrio (2 households). At least the water levels in the Maytag are a little more normal. You can wash more than 1 pair of jeans and get them clean in the Maytag. For those of you with the problem of the clothes not smelling clean - try running the clean cycle with a cup of bleach about once a week. No clothes in it - just a cup of bleach in the bleach dispenser and nothing else. Works for us.

Bought this washer and dryer on sale at HD. The washer hasnt worked from the beginning. The clothes dont get wet because its an HE. I have to add buckets of water to even get the clothes wet enough to wash. The clothes come out with a residue on them. We use liquid HE detergent. It appears Im having the same problem as the majority of posters here. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool appliance. There should be a class action suit to get Whirlpool to respond.

Approximately a year later door was replaced by Whirlpool because of paint problem due to faulty design. Replaced door is now peeling and rusting by exhaust vent also. Contacted Whirlpool and they will do nothing more. They said it was a favor the first time they replaced the door. They feel this is a cosmetic problem! I paid a total of $675.03, Their repairman would charge a $100.00 to look at it and another $235.00 for a new door. I feel this is a design problem and they should replace it with a new model, a refund would be better. Very unlikey, because Whirlpool does not stand behind their products. The line also includes Maytag, Jenn-Air, Amana and Hot Point. Besides this I have found plastic pieces that have fallen off! I had to use plastic ties to keep them in place. Dishwasher does not clean well. Have to rinse everything first. Products are bad, stay away from them!

2016 Cabrio Washer - I had an 11 year old Maytag washer that finally gave up so rather than go through the repair I decided to upgrade to a new washer dryer and went with the Whirlpool Cabrio W/D pair. I am shocked at the washers inability to clean even the most basic of stains. I have to pre-treat clothes like never before, have tried every type of wash cycle offered and cant believe the amount of time it takes to clean clothes. Over one hour??? My Maytag may have agitated the heck out of a load but in less than 30 minutes everything was clean. Ive had to re-wash load after load of the most basic everyday stains. I was hoping the larger drum would allow me to cut my laundry time down but that is not the case, and find myself putting a few things in at a time so they get washed. Im stuck with this piece of crap and have only had it for one month... Cant wait for it to start breaking down and dealing with repairs as so many of these comments mention. I miss my Maytag!!!

Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.

After 2 1/2 yrs, the bearings have gone out, also every time I run the cleaning cycle, water leaks out under the washer. My boyfriend looked the parts to fix the washer, since I called Lowes concerning the warranty and its out. Cost to repair, just in parts would be around $400, I paid a lot of money for a product to last only 2 1/2 yrs. Such a lack of quality in workmanship. With these price, there should be better quality. Do not purchase a whirlpool. 2 washers for them in 5 yrs is not a great track record.

I have never posted a negative product review but must do so now. The refrigerator is 1 1/2 years old at most and has been well taken care of. I noticed today that the finish at either side of the bottom of each refrigerator door handle has a problem. I couldnt tell if the finish was pitting or is just discolored. I called customer service and expected that they would help, especially since we have an extended warranty. Representative number one told me that the extended warranty only covers problems that affect the function of the product. I spoke to her supervisor and then her supervisor. I got plenty of apologies but no support. I offered to send pictures, but they were not even interested in checking out the problem.After speaking to them, I took the handle off and I see now that the handle cut into some sort of film that exists on the metal. (I am not talking about the protective plastic coating that is on the the refrigerator at delivery.) The film is lifting off the surface and creating discoloration. If Whirlpool was at all concerned, I think this issue could be fixed with some sort of gasket to keep the metal handle from cutting into the surface. Im hoping the problem is static, but hard to say what will happen. If they had been interested in trying to understand the cause of the problem, it would have been easier to accept the limitations of the warranty. It would have demonstrated an interest in avoiding this problem for other consumers in the future. My last Whirlpool product. Period. Good luck if you decide to do business with them.

The only way to get them moderately clean is to wash a few items at a time and even then the whites, especially socks, seem dingy. I noticed the new Whirlpool washers now have an extra setting to add more water to the machine, so the executives have realized there is a problem with the original model.I think Whirlpool should give all customers who previously purchased the models without this feature a trade-in option to get the newer model that fills with more water or for another model with the full spindle that has worked well for so many years. I have been very unhappy with the performance of this washer and would only hope the executives would do something to resolve this problem and satisfy previous customers.

Cabrio Whirlpool Washer - Bought this washer from HHGregg in Orange Park, Florida. This washing machine is horrible!! It does not fill the tub with water enough to even cover the clothes. Some of the clothes are not even wet. They just sit in dirty water, no agitation. Then it refills with water and the rinse water is dirty, there is no agitation or movement during the wash cycle. My clothes are stained and dried food and dirt are still on the clothes. My white clothes are now gray. This is the worst machine. I have tried everything. I am now hand washing the clothes and trying to add water to at least cover the clothes but the sensor just drains the extra water out. This machine is less than a year old. There should be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool. I am not the only one; everyone that has this machine says it is a nightmare.

The unit has performed as I had hoped. I wanted a quiet appliance that performed well, and could accommodate large plates and platters. I never put my knives, wooden utensils, pots or pans in my dishwasher so that was never an issue. I use 1 of 5 cycles available, 1 of 4 options available. Why use something other than hot water? The delay option is used often since I have a tendency to forget to turn it on, but I never let it run if someone is not home. The time left clock is also helpful, but dont count on it being really accurate. The start/resume, delay and cancel options are often used. I used the rinse option once with disappointing results. The silverware caddy is a little small, or my silverware is too large. I do not put any pots, pans or knives in, everything else fits fine because its a tall unit. So tall in fact, that the door comes out much farther than earlier units. Im still getting used to that. The front is brushed stainless with a black plastic control panel, nothing special here. My favorite options are delay and time left. Never have used the heat to dry option. We have low humidity and Ive never had the need to dry them immediately.

They have diamond shaped ice cubes which are great but, whenever the filter nears the end of its life, the icemaker fill tube freezes up. Occasional freezes up just because. Changing the filter, although the old one supposedly has some life left, may/may not solve the problem. Filling the ice tray with foreign ice for a few days thaws the fill tube and it will generally start up again - maybe. Complete waste of time and energy!

I purchased this washer about a year ago and have been dissatisfied with its performance since Day One. It takes a long time to run a cycle and has not saved me any water or electricity. I always have to add a second rinse because it doesnt get the soap out (using the recommended detergent) with the regular cycles. Sometimes it doesnt get my clothes clean.Today it tore huge holes in the front and back of one of my very favorite T-shirts, which was a very meaningful gift from a very good friend. This was due to its tangling the clothes even more tightly than it usually does; the tangling process was what tore the material. I always take pains to load the machine in the manner instructed, to put the clothes in loose balls around the outside of the drum, but nevertheless it can take me several minutes to untangle my laundry before I put it in the dryer (also a Whirlpool -- just waiting to see how it disappoints). If I had read the reviews here before I selected my new machines, I would never have purchased the Whirlpool washer or dryer. I certainly never will purchase Whirlpool machines again.

We bought an extended warranty, got it fixed and the other evaporator went out less than a year later after that! Next, the circuit board control on the crisper went out. Then, the water filter would not disengage and a repairman had to take the fridge apart just to put in a new filter! And now, the ice-maker has gone out and the fan is icing up like another evaporator is going... Insane! Our warranty is up next year. Once the warranty ends we will start shopping for another unit - and it wont be a Whirlpool - thats for sure. I have never owned anything this unreliable in my entire life! Also, I would say most of the time we have owned this piece of you-know-what it has made a loud disturbing fan noise... What a waste of good money! Run! Run far, far away!!!

I am on my second Cabrio. The first one only lasted a few years, but I stayed with the Cabrio line because I didnt want to replace the dryer. That was my first mistake. The second Cabrio washer constantly leaves a white residue on dark clothing. I used an HE detergent, reduced the detergent and put the dark clothes through an extra rinse and still find residue that has to be scraped off. I called Whirlpool on Dec. 19th, 2018 to complain about this and was told there was no history reported of this kind of problem. Then I went on the ConsumerAffairs website to learn that many others have the same residue issue, among many other products. I will not ever purchase a Whirlpool machine of any kind again.

WP had me metering with a multi-meter until found OTC button was tripped. Then they suggested I troubleshoot the elements and sent me a video. I called Lowes and they said they would replace. Later they called back and said WP would not give them a RA number and for me to call them. I did and the rep after much arguing directed me to call their factory authorized service, A & E. I did and they said it would be 33 days before they could come out. I hung up and called Lowes who called back later and wanted me to call WP again. This time they said they did not have a repair service close enough to come, but I could try buying the lower heating element and replacing it to see if that worked. I said no, the heater was brand new and they needed to fix it. Their next solution was have me contact a local plumber and arrange to troubleshoot, me pay the plumber and then send them the bill. They would reimburse me up to $100.00. Not acceptable and now the button has to be reset every few hours and the water gets scalding hot while it is heating. I thought the new AquaLift cleaning would be the greatest. Boy, was I disappointed -- no thoroughly disgusted and very angry -- when I tried to use the self cleaning oven. I had cooked a prime rib roast and a lot of grease had spattered inside the oven. I wiped away the excess and did a cleaning cycle -- what a joke! There was still grease running down the door and walls. Nothing was changed after two cleaning cycles. Now I have to crawl inside the oven and scrub it manually. I was always pleased with the old self cleaning ovens which only left some ash and a little bit to clean up. The AquaLift technology doesnt work at all, didnt Whirlpool test it prior to selling it to the public? They will surely lose my business and I hope a lot of other peoples business as well. This technology was a huge mistake!!

As you have heard from 700 other people we bought a whirlpool refrigerator because GE sucks, brand new refrigerator died in 4 years with 4 service bill costing more than the refrigerator. So we did some research and whirlpool was being recommended by several stores and the reviews were better than most. Well we bought the Whirlpool refrigerator and it has been nothing but problems from the start. Everything that can go wrong has and of course our warranty ran out. And we are sitting here with no water, no ice, water tray falls out and breaks. Called whirlpool many times and their answer every time is, we will send someone out for you, and then we get a 300 to 400 dollar bill. Whirlpool sucks as bad as GE. Its crazy these companies get away with this crap. They can build good refrigerators they have in the past. My grandparents have one for 25+ years, now you cant get 2 years out of them. Pure Junk! We bought a Whirlpool washer and dryer set (Cabrio WED7300XWO) 2 years ago. Within that time, the door seal fell off and needed to be replaced. The drive belt pulley became detached, and now the drum seal has fallen out and had wrapped into the clothes. I have never experienced such a substandard product. We would trade back this one for our 15-year old set we had replaced it with at the drop of a hat. We are retired and have a summer home, and only use this product 4-5 months a year. Never again, Whirlpool!

Atlanta Gas Light Company showed up at my door Saturday Jan 16, 2016 citing they needed to do maintenance on our meter. 20 minutes later, he came in and said we had a leak. He checked all of the furnaces and water heater, then zeroed in on my brand new Whirlpool Range (purchased 11/11/15) indicating it had a faulty control valve. This faulty and dangerous range was sold to me by Lowes and manufactured by Whirlpool and we had unknowingly been living with a gas leak for 2 1/2 months! Its notable that Atlanta Gas Light sends our contractors only every 3 years to test for gas leaks. I shudder to think what would have happened had they not done this. My husband and I, purchased this washer on November last year, I used twice before and I noticed that the clothes felt hot, but the cycle was COLD water. Now use it again until June 2015. In every cycle the clothes were hot, I started calling to get an appointment in June at the 1800-253-1301, but the system was down twice. Then in July then again the system was down, then August 10, system was down. I did not wait more and called back the next day, August 11, got appointment for the 20. A technician came, he told me that the hoses was switched, but I know the hoses was installed correctly, my husband was here at the installation. He knows the proper installation of the washers.

Whirlpool Range/Oven PT3196685 happened on 6-10-2014, was baking cookies with timer on for 9 min. First batch turn out good, 2nd batch on fire before even get to 6 min, the burner is brightly hot and cant shut off from the panel... Saw ERR then COOL indicator... Tried but no respond from panel. The burner element wont turn off and temp keep rising white hot... The only way to shutoff is the house circuit breaker. But soon you turn on the breaker, the oven would turn on by itself and you cant switch it off. Where is the safety breaker on these range/oven when something goes beyond 500 degree..... UNSAFE PRODUCT. Ordered a new Whirlpool Gold 700 series but canceled after discovered others experienced similar situation with the new product. Could have burn down the house and worst when lives involved. WONDER IF ANYTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THESE SAFETY ISSUE.

I really dont have any complaints except for how long it takes per cycle. The size and arrangement of this dishwasher is perfect for our family of 6. We can fit a lot in there and everything gets clean. Nice clean look and easy to keep that way. We bought the extended warranty but didnt need it at all.

The biggest problem is that instead of a simple dial to control temperature, you have to be a computer genius to figure out how to turn it to a different temp. even by the instructions. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. When I first got it, it made a very loud noise when it run, but that changed with time to a bearable volume. Everything seems to work well other than those few little things.

I bought a pair of Whirlpool front loading washing machine and dryer on May 23, 2011. The Duet Steam washer model is WFW9640XW, dryer is WED9470WW. Their high retail price was $1125 each. I did not pay this for them. I thought I got a great buy at Lowes for the price I paid, plus their 4-year extended warranty. Whirlpool used to be a very high-end appliance manufacturing company. Now, all they put out the back door is junk. I would advise not to buy Whirlpool front end anything. My washing machine started making noise about 2 weeks before I reported it to both Lowes and Whirlpool. The noise sounded like bearing not being lubricated, which that is what it ended up being.The noise got so loud that even with all my very expensive electronics (my home entertainment ctr equipment) I could not hear the TV which goes through an expensive Yamaha AV Receiver and those expensive Infinity speakers 7 channel system. The main bearing for the wash drum assembly was bad. After two emails and several phone calls to both Lowes and Whirlpool, Whirlpool was going to send the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. The style I have is 3 parts; the new one according to Whirlpool is one part, but if they put the same bearing in, youre going to end up with the same problem in another year. I live in a condo of just over 920 sq. ft. so really there is no room to repair them in my home, but that is what they are going to do. I will be getting the new drum assembly delivered to my condo and have the repair company doing this dirty job in the middle of my living room.Living in a condo, I have a small utility closet next to the kitchen where the furnace, hot water tank, and washer and dryer are. The closet needs to have some areas cut out with and installed two small hinged doors on each side, so if anything ever needs to be repaired or replaced, there would be a little bit more room to move items in or out. The problem getting the washer out is getting the dryer moved so you can disconnect the electrical plug, cold water hose for the steam, plus the vent hose. First, you have to get to the water valves which are very hard to reach. Because of the way cluster housing is made, they squeeze things into very small holes like the faucets and drain hose are located. I was asked by the repair person if I could help him lift these items out of the closet. I have had 7 fusion back operations and #7 left me in constant pain that I take a narcotic drug for pain daily. So, I called Whirlpool back and said the repair people were only going to send a tech. I was told that it is a two-man job: one tech and one helper. So Lowes needs to authorize two people since Whirlpool is sending the new drum assembly for free. I wish I could have gotten a new washing machine with the so-called re-engineered drum assembly. I am still probably going to have to squeeze between the bulkhead (wall) and the washer and dryer to disconnect everything since I am a small person. If I wasnt retired, I would have bought a different brand front loading washer and dryer, probably Bosch and took the loss on these piles of Junk. I love my country and do my very best even as hard as it is in this day and age to buy US. I served my country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War, just to see the civilians willfully buy Asian everything. So now, we have 4 Asian nations that own this country. I dont know why Whirlpool changed from a company that you could trust their products to a company that doesnt give a damn what they put out the back door. These companies still havent gotten the clue why folks buy goods from other countries. I think they need to open their eyes, but I guess with Whirlpool still being a company that is selling a very large number of appliances and making money off of us, suckers, they dont need to change. The only way they are going to change is if folks stop buying their junk.

I will never buy another Whirlpool again or recommend them to anyone, and discourage anyone from buying one. I bought a Cabrio washing machine just over 2 years ago and yesterday I received an F51 error code. The manual says that this code requires a technician to come a check for repairs. Well, before I do anything I google the problem, and lo and behold there are thousands of complaints about this issue with the Cabrio models. Some saying that what needed to be replaced were a control board ($280) and a rotor (unknown amount), not including the price of labor. Some said that Whirlpool knows about this problem and they covered the parts and repair. This didnt get my hopes up, but I called customer service and of course they said that there were no reported issues with the model and that what I found on the internet was probably an older model. Of course! The lady on the phone told me that they would not cover the costs and it would be anywhere from $300 to $500 depending on the route I wanted to take. That is a 1/3 to 1/2 the price I paid for the machine. This is ridiculous! I am tempted to just get rid of the washer and go with a better company that actually cares about their customers. This error code was definitely something they know is a big deal if there was nothing I could do about it other than call a technician. I paid almost $1000 for a machine that has barely lasted 2 years before I have to pay money to have it fixed. Not a company I would ever purchase anything from again!

My induction cooktop totally failed to work two months after installation. Whirlpool sent a repairman who told us it was the main board. He also said he was unable to locate any of that part anywhere in his computer. We called Whirlpool via our store, Ikea. They apologized, asked for 48 hours to locate a part, then said they would replace the cooktop if they were unable to find out. Almost 48 hours later, they hadnt located it and denied any replacement option. The parts cost is over $800. The cooktop cost just over $900. Whirlpool reps would only read from a script of legal warranty jargon. Then they said they needed 5 to 7 days. We had a baby visiting - we needed our stove. To me, an apology would be replacing that unit if the part wasnt available, not a verbal statement. Fortunately, we had the phone # of a local Ikea manager who told us to bring the cooktop to the store as they had them in stock. They replaced it with a new one. Over the years of my long life, I have bought many Whirlpool products. Never again. I need a washer and dryer, and will not be purchasing any associated with the Whirlpool Corporation. Thanks to Ikea, though, for standing by their customers.

I called the Co. and they sent a young man to my house to fix it and he thought he had. Well 2 wks after that it started freezing again and I called the Co. again and the same thing happened again and this was after my warranty had expired. Well then this young man came out and replaced the fan and a heating rod I believe to help it to stop freezing. Well 2 days ago it started freezing up once again. Im disabled and live on a fix income so now Ive got to figure out to get me another frig. And it WILL NOT BE A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR. But kudos to the Co. and the young man for trying to fix it even though it took 3XS and still not working.

Updated on 07/30/2021: On 5/4/21 a tree took out a neutral on the power line to my home and after inspection by my electrician, he said my Whirlpool refrigerator was done. Not even 1 year old. When attempting to get Whirlpool to replace the refrigerator, they said they have to try and repair it before considering any other options. As they do not cover damage by acts of God their warranty would not cover replacement. Mind you I paid around $1500 for my refrigerator and it was not even 1 year old. 5/17/21 (2 weeks from when the refrig got fried and I had to get and I had to purchase a used refrig until then) serviceman said he had to order parts. 6/1/21 - Motor-Cond $158.20, Fan Blade $13.97, CNTRL Elec $60 CORE [PI] $497.45 and Evap Fan Motor $183.91. Did not fix the problem and had to order more parts. 6/8/21 - Evap Fan Motor $183.91 (first one did not work), Rail $34.76. Service tech said to wait a bit before moving the frig back to make sure it was cooling properly. Finally moved it back on 7/7/21 and hooked up the water line. Few days later noticed water leaking from the top of the freezer door and a lot of water on my floor. Heard a funny sound and found water spurting from the top 2 corners of the freezer door. Called whirlpool warranty and was told they would contact me. Next I get a notice that I have a service appointment in August. Was able to get it moved with a follow up appointment with a part that was broken during the last repair for 7/28/21.7/28/21 - Fill tube heater for icemaker was open and frozen - now tech ordered Rail $34.76, Freezer Door $1,525.84 and Valve $124.23. 6-8 weeks custom order. So we also have to added 5 service calls to the cost - Approx. $500++. Total Replacement Parts = $2,758.81 with a final total cost to repair of $3258.81+ vs just replacing or reimbursing me for the appliance of approximately $1800. When contacting Whirlpool to file a claim, I was on hold over an hour before getting a person. This happens every time you attempt to contact them, so patience is required. I was not able to get a service call on my refrigerator for 2 weeks (5/17/21) so that left me without a refrigerator. The service company showed up early and I had no choice but to leave my job or reschedule another 2 weeks out. The tech said he could only repair and made an attempt to contact Whirlpool to get the unit replaced and he was on hold for over 30 minutes. They declined and said because it was an act of God they could not replace it. I was already having issues with the unit before the surge of a constant defrost that was causing food to spoil due to melting then refreezing causing freezer burn. I also lost over $500 worth of food. They dont cover. It also caused the icemaker to constantly freeze up. Now it will take at least another 2 weeks for the replacement part to fix and a refrigerator is not something you can go without that long. I had a concern this would happen. When speaking with customer I service, they said they just needed the tech to confirm it was damaged to replace it. At this point he said he does not know if the piece (on 2 weeks backorder) will fix it. They can only tell after the fact. He said Whirlpool only fixes and does not replace, which is not what Home Depot informed me when inquiring into the warranty with Whirlpool. They said Power Surges are covered. So with this in mind, I would seriously consider buying from Whirlpool. Things break, situations happen and no one should have to go without a refrigerator for over a month because they may be able to fix it. Then there is the concern if something is melted/destroyed inside, if it could cause a fire in the future. Will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. It has not been cleaned with anything harsh - I use warm soapy water or stainless steel cleaner. I use the same thing on my other appliances and they look fine. I am waiting for a tech to come and look at it but after reading other complaints I fear that they are going to say it is cosmetic and it is not covered. Sadly, we can no longer wipe the control panel if it is dirty because the stainless steel is flaking off and it gets all over the burners and I am concerned it will get into our food. I am willing to bet the paint that is flaking off is not approved for consumption.I wish I had our old Frigidaire Gallery Series range back. I regret replacing it. Whirlpool was not helpful. They told me to contact the place I purchased it. The place I purchased it said it is a manufacturers defect. Someone suggested painting it with stainless steel colored spray paint which sounds like it is going to look awful. Its amazing to me that every other complaint listed here is identical to the problems I have had with my Duet washer. In the past 4 years, I have had two Duet washers and now, the 2nd one has to be replaced. On the first, the control board blew and it was too expensive to consider replacing. I had a new Duet later that day (I use a great, small local appliance store that is reliable and has a great reputation so I know Im not being screwed over). This one made it for 3 years before the bearing broke. It sounds like its about to launch into orbit. I can either continue to use it until it stops working (likely very soon) or just replace it now as its too expensive to repair. I cant take a chance on it breaking down, so...Thats a good gig Whirlpool has, huh? Repairs are prohibitively expensive so they sell more machines. Whirlpool appliances used to be among the most reliable and well-made. Not any more. Two Duet washers in 4 years in my honest opinion is ludicrous. My new bottom freezer refrigerator has more room than my previous side by side. The bottom freezer is a great feature and works very well for me. The shelves are adjustable. There is plenty of room in the doors. It has a meat drawer and humidity control vegetable bins. I was worried I wouldn't have enough room for my food but I am happy to report there is plenty of room. The freezer has the pullout shelves and automatic ice maker. It has a great appearance and takes less room than my previous side by side. Overall, it is well worth the price and I am not sorry I bought this refrigerator in the least. It can't be beat.

The stove is about two years old, but we do not use it that much. Two days ago my wife set the timer and placed a dish in for cooking; she then went outside to water the garden. About twenty minutes later she returned as something was burning- the oven reached a temperature of 350 degrees and would have burnt the whole kitchen down if she did not spot it. Now surely the oven should be designed to switch off if sensors fail? I reported this to Hirsch (Ballito) but they say they have no one servicing the Richards Bay area. I am not sure if this stove should be fixed as it is obviously not safe and makes me wonder how Whirlpool get safety standards passed on these items. Surely you expect better when buying a well-known whirlpool brand?

Im very satisfied with the looks and performance of my Whirlpool dishwasher, it is quiet enough that I put it on to wash before going to bed. It is that quiet. Im not happy about the way it was installed, but that is no fault of the dishwasher or Whirlpool, it works great even though it sits kind of crooked in the cabinet. Today Katrina ID # ** tells me they are making the new upgraded unit with an anticipated delivery of MID MARCH. I just about flipped my lid. I asked for a supervisor of which she said she was a SR support specialist. I asked that this be escalated and I get a call regarding status. She advised that she would inquire and call me back. Likely shouldnt hold my breath or try to call back because you are on hold for up to 1-2 hours. Just to clarify, have never had an issue with Whirlpool. Every appliance we have in our home is Whirlpool. I just cant believe this experience. I am going to the media on my next stop.

Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! That repair man showed up @ 4:45pm. He never looked at the refrigerator. I told him exactly what had happened and what noises the refrigerator was making. He promptly picked up his laptop and said I will turn the report in and their office would call me tomorrow to schedule a repair man to come and fix it. Needless to say I was livid and told him that I had been led to believe that the refrigerator would be fixed by him that day. He promptly left right after he gave me his business card. So here we are on the 28th and no one from that company or Whirlpool has contacted me about when repairs will be made. I have never been this upset or angry in my life. Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio. Noticed it was getting really loud less than a year into owning it. Called while it was under warranty. The tech said it was fine. Within the next year and a half it got so loud, you cant hear anything else in the house while it is running. Now it is leaking from the tub seals and the bearings are going out according to two service techs I have had come look at it. They say it is more expensive to fix than the washer is even worth. This is due to the parts that would be used to fix it are the same cheap Whirlpool parts that were put in it in the first place. They both said that these are not good washers and commonly go out about a year and half to three years old. Shame on Whirlpool for making such a low quality product and not being willing to do anything about it.

After 5 service technicians verified the erratic temperature fluctuations in the ovens, Whirlpool insists that a +25 degree to -25 degree fluctuation in a heating cycle is normal. The motherboard was changed 3 times, and the sensors were changed 3 times, including hard-wiring the last set of sensors. I called Whirlpool and customer service says that is normal. Ever tried baking at a 350 degree setting that fluctuates from 375 degrees down to 312 degrees while trying to maintain a 350 degree setting? I understand there has to be some fluctuation, but either it took a lot of extra time or burned my food consistently. Ridiculous.So, with the help of wonderful people at Lowes (where I purchased the double oven) Whirlpool is refunding my money and Lowes has taken back the slide-in double oven. In my quest to replace it, multiple appliance sellers have told me that all the new ovens having motherboards and sensors have big fluctuations in the oven heating cycles. I find that unacceptable. My husband and other family members have worked daily in an industry where temperatures were critical. They used ovens that could maintain temperature within 5 degrees of set temperature with analog controls. The home consumers are being ripped off with cheap, sub-standard parts making throw away appliances and getting away with it. What do I buy? Havent figured that out yet, but have purchased a countertop toaster oven that bakes beautifully.

The aqualift cleaning function is a joke, so be prepared to be down on your hands and knees scrubbing. Im careful, and Ive not spilled anything yet, but the oven still gets splatters from roasting meats, etc. Id hate to see what Ill have to deal with when I actually let something spill. Today, as I was down on my hands and knees trying to clean it, I noticed that the enamel is chipping off where the oven racks slide in. Great. I was preparing dinner last September 10, 2011. I had the pans on the cooktop, one on the right rear and one on the left front burners. This was the set up because the right front burner has stopped working some time ago. Both burners were on a low setting as I was simmering pasta sauce and just warming water as I was later going to boil it for the noodles. I was in my living room when I started to smell something odd. When I approached my kitchen, there was a fire coming from the rear of the cooktop and beneath the three burner knobs. It smelled like an electrical fire. I immediately turned off the burners with my hand wrapped in a towel and started putting out the fire by hitting it with the towel and blowing. The towel caught on fire. I grabbed my fire extinguisher and was ready to spray when finally, it looked like it burned out. The smell in my home is terrible, when I tried to test the lower burner it looked like it was catching on fire underneath the knob as well, so i immediately turned it off and batted it with a towel. Im not sure what happened here. I will make my final payment on this range next month and had the previous range in here since 1977 and that still worked fine. It is a very dangerous situation to put your consumers in!Whirlpool Corporation contacted the appliance repair company, Columbine Appliances, to inform them that they would only be covering the cost of their visit and not the cost of the parts to be replaced in the range (the ones that caught on fire). Through Columbine Appliance, Whirlpool wanted to inform me that this is not a safety hazard and that it was my fault as I got water in the control knobs. This is not true. If I did, I was not aware and was unable to find any literature about that being a safety hazard or that it could cause a fire. I have found and have forwarded to the CPSC many instances of this exact problem, often when the range was not even in use and are happening to other consumers. I am working on combining the data, contacting the other consumers and have since refused service on the range by Columbine Appliances. Whirlpool only tried to contact me after I left them a message regarding the status of the range and that I had no interest in paying for what I viewed as a defect in their range and a safety hazard. I found a news story of this range going up in flames. Its unbelievable that this company continues to stand behind this product and blame these fires on the consumers actions. I am disabled and have an oxygen machine in my home. I have no desire to have this unit catch on fire again and potentially die, especially since water does, on occasion, end up on cooktops. I took a shower and was getting ready to leave for the day when I went into my garage to smell burning plastic and wires. I was told that they do not have the part and it has to be order. It will take about 2 weeks for it to reach them, no one contacted me since. I contacted them (Unicomer Trinidad) on August 04, 2014. I contacting Whirlpool US HQ by telephone, they gave me a number for Whirlpool Florida. I was told that they are responsible for my area but when I try calling the number, it was out of service. When I contacted back Whirlpool US HQ, I was told that they cannot help me check the website for the local representative which I could not find. This washing machine is 10 months old plus I took the extended warranty. It is a Duet WFW94HEXL2 washer.

After yet another frustrating round of laundry I have to write this. This has been the worst purchase (Cabrio 6800 Washer and Dryer) Ive ever made. Like other reviewers, I thought I was buying a high-end (high priced) product that has performed miserably from day one. Clothes do NOT come clean and for some reason, towels and dishcloths get ripped and shredded. All cycles (except sheets/towels) do not dispense enough water. Of course the one that does, results in the ripped and shredded problem. A little more than a year after purchase, we got an error code indicating the computer board was bad. Code would come up during initial cycle start and again at the start of the rinse cycle. Whirlpool basically said tough luck but shortly after, we started receiving offers in the mail to purchase an extended warranty for $175. Out of principle, I did not do this. Instead we discovered that we could push pause/start/pause/start multiple times and it would eventually keep going. We are still doing that on EVERY load of laundry (start and rinse cycles). I am not far from just biting the bullet and buying a new washer. It will not be a Whirlpool. One positive note is that the dryer has performed well, unlike some of the other reviewer experiences!

I called them back with the recall information, and they politely sent someone out to rebuild the washer. Less than a year later it is no longer working, again. I found many complaints about the same problem--even a reference to a class action law suit. Whirlpool said they were unaware of the problem, didnt have many complaints, and are unwilling to help. I bought the set and the extended warranty from Lowes and my total with delivery was 2579.00. 20 days after the extended warranty expires (that I never used) the bearings on my Washer go bad. This thing in spin cycle sounds like a jet engine. I called to see if Lowes would still honor my warranty because I never used it and they said no. (Just look on YouTube for Whirlpool bearing replacement and the amount of views should indicate the amount of troubled users.)Called a repair scheduled through Whirlpools website to come look at it for a 75 dollar assessment and they said it would be about 500-550 to replace the outer tub - largely due to the fact its labor intensive and the bearings are packed in the outer tub from the factory. I was like are you ** kidding me? I paid 1029 for the unit brand new in 2009 and 550 to fix? I said thank you to the repair guy and escorted him nicely out. Upon that I called back Whirlpool to tell them how displeased I am and how I will not be another product of theirs ever and mostly due to the fact they know this is a huge issue and wont do anything about it. I will be going to Lowes to see if the guy who sold me this pile of crap will work me a deal on another unit or set of another brand after I show him my receipt and express my displeasure with that product. If they wont do anything I will go to another store and spend my money elsewhere - I have choices and others do too. So if you are thinking about buying anything in the Cabrio line, dont. Go Samsung or LG - 10 year warranty straight from the manufacturer and costs 200-300 less than I paid for my washer dryer 5 years ago. I bought the Affresh product and there is still a problem. Every load of wash has to be put back in for another rinse cycle, sometimes two rinse cycles. Though it was not under warranty any longer, the repair company advised me that the problem was a warranty item and repaired it at no charge. This process took several hours of work by the repairman and two visits. He advised that this is an issue with the refrigerator and Whirlpool is aware. Now, May 2015, only 6 months later, ice is building up on the back wall of the freezer and the freezer is running constantly and very loud. Bringing in repair person, hopefully before it stops again. The machine cannot handle large loads (if you consider one blanket large load). I have to unplug the machine mid wash, as the load gets stuck on one side and moves my machine across the floor. The silverware rack will not stay shut, so when you go to shut the door all the silverware falls into the bottom of the washer. And its totally rusting. All the pins in the carriage are literally rusting away. This is a faulty washer and Whirlpool needs to find a way to repay their customers. Ill never buy a Whirlpool product again.
