"My kids love uncrustables but I think they are too expensive. So I started making my own. I don't cut the crust off mine but it's the same concept. I make these during my OAMC session."

directions

  • Apply peanut butter to one side of each slice of bread. Make sure you you spread the peanut butter out to the edges of the bread.
  • Apply the jelly to one slice of the bread but keep jelly about a half an inch away from the edge of the bread on all sides. By doing this, the peanut butter will "seal" the sandwich and it will not get soggy.
  • Put the sandwich together.
  • Wrap and place in freezer bags.
  • When ready to eat, pull amount of sandwiches needed and let thaw in fridge or in lunch box.
  • You can use whatever type bread, peanut butter and jelly you like. The combinations can be endless.

  1. What is the best way to "wrap" them for freezing? Can I just put it in a sandwich bag?

  1. My son is obsessed with Uncrustables, and when I was pregnant with my daughter I was too!!! I always am making him sandwiches with my PC Cut and Seal...but NEVER has it dawned on me to freeze them!!! Thank you so much! I just whipped up a whole tray full of these little guys...I stopped by Kroger when they were have there $.88 sale and got PB and Jelly for $.88 each and a loaf of their bread is $.78. I used half a jar of each, so for $1.66 I made 10 Uncrustables and have lots of crusts to use for home made bread crumbs! Thanks for this super idea and money saver!!

  2. I might be crazy, but I think these sandwiches taste much better after freezing. I make a huge batch each week and pop a sandwich and an apple into my lunch sack for work. Couldn't be easier!

  3. What a lifesaver this recipe was for me (and my DD) when I was down for the count after surgery! I can never thank you enough for posting this and letting me know that I could freeze these sandwiches! My DD thanks you too! She was ear to ear smiles when I would tell her she could go get her pb&j out of the freezer herself and take it for lunch! Gave her a sense of independence and me a sense of knowing I was still making sure she was taken care of!

  4. Great idea! My city is peanut free for schools but DH loves to take these to work and they're great for taking on picnics and will be perfect for the beach!

  5. Pampered chef sells a sandwich cutter that cuts the same shape as the uncrustables too!! You can make yourself, save the scraps for bread crumbs.

  1. These are a real time saver in the morning! I've used honey instead of jelly for my picky 8 year old. I use my pampered chef cut-n-seal and they're just like the store bought ones!

I have two boys Eddie 18 and Brandon 10. I have been with my hubby for 16 years. I work full time outside the home and my boys keep me busy at home. Eddie is a singer and base guitar player in a band and Brandon races go karts. We also have a Collie/Beagle mix named Sugar.I love to cook and try out new recipes. My family likes it too but at times ask my to make just "normal" food, as I forget sometimes to make my own TNT recipes. I cook a lot with with my crock pot as it makes life a lot easier for me. I am always on the look out for new crock pot recipes.I'm not much of a baker as I don't like to measure things.I collect cookbooks and recipes in general. I usually start with a recipe and tweak to my families liking. My Rating System: 5 Stars = The whole family enjoyed the dish and it will be added to my TNT cookbook. Book #220911. These recipes will be made again and again.4 Stars = Recipe was good, but needed some modifications or it was good but not something we would want on a regular basis. Also goes into my TNT-4 star recipe cookbook. Book #2209123 Stars = It was edible, but won't be made again.2 Stars = Needs some kind of major adjustments.1 Stars = Inedible, didn't work, waste of ingredients.
