🍄🚀 Big Wins in the World of mushrooms! 🚀🍄As we stand amidst our container farms today, surrounded by walls of fruiting Lion’s Mane mushrooms, it’s hard not to reflect on the journey that brought us here. Achieving 3lb yields per block is a milestone we’re incredibly proud of, especially knowing the complexities and nuances of mushroom cultivation. The path to this point was anything but straightforward. It involved countless hours of research, experimentation, and, let’s be honest, moments of frustration. Mushroom cultivation is an art as much as it is a science, requiring a deep understanding of the biological needs of the mushrooms and the ability to precisely control their growing environment. Our success with these Lion’s Mane mushrooms wasn’t just about pushing for higher yields; it was about creating a sustainable, efficient system within our container farm that could support this level of production. The breakthrough came after numerous iterations and tweaks to our cultivation process, demonstrating the importance of perseverance, continuous learning, and innovation. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. Every block of Lion’s Mane that fruits successfully is a reminder of what we can accomplish when we stay curious, embrace challenges, and work collaboratively towards a common goal.#gamechange #continuouschange Jonathan Murray Rob Imbeault Dylan Mitchell Gavin Willco*cks Iain Storosko Mo Asgharzadeh

Cowboi Mushroom What is a mycelium? If you have never heard of mycelium, It sounds complicated, but simply put, it is actually just the root system of a mushroom. The fruiting body refers to the mushroom itself, the mycelium is a dense mass of fine fibers that support the life system of the mushroom. In the early stages of this beautiful mushroom crop, the harvest team would go in early on day 14 after its filled into the growing room. The team of harvesters would select the mushrooms they want by opening the bunches of mushrooms from the mushrooms beds. This will allow enough space for the mushrooms to grow to their maximum potential with high quality as the CO2 are being release from the beds. We would harvest for 5 days by doing graze picking to let the mushrooms size up throughout the day and maintain its quality. The process repeat itself with every growing room with similar timing. Attention to details by the harvest/growing team needs to be high as there are other variables we need to pay attention to as well.Always growing. #team #quality #management #teamwork #cowboimushroom #g20india

🍄The Magic of Mycorrhizal Fungi"This amazing fungus helps break down minerals in the soil and turn them into usable pieces of food for plants. It does this by literally entangling itself into the plant's root. It lives inside the plant root, and it's been doing this almost since the very first discovery of plants and fossils. It's an amazing story about how connected the world underground is and the impact of that on us." 👉 Check out this episode of Tasting Terroir, where some of the following topics are discussed:-What are these magical fungi?-Why is it so crucial for creating healthy soil and flavorful food?-What kind of farming disrupts it?-What kind of farming enhances it?-How do these fungi change the flavor of food?https://hubs.la/Q025rbGy0#fungifriday #soilhealth #farming #biodiversity #agriculture #regenerativeagriculture

Diversifying Rural Economies and Food System Resilience.

Yesterday I harvested my first passion fruit, not a basket full not even a hand full but just ONE fruit. This is the first fruit that my passion vines have produced. In the grand scheme of things where the vines will produce much more fruit in a year, with good care, this may seem insignificant. However, plucking this first fruit, cracking into it and tasting the sweetness made me illogically happy. The memory of that intense spark of joy and pride will stay with me for a couple of days motivating me to give special attention to the vines as I anticipate more sparks. When training on good agriculture practice, we speak about improved quality and quantity of a crop. We quantify this as an economic incentive in dollars and shillings. The sheer joy and pride I and so may farmers experience from every first fruit of a harvest, the human side, should definitely be utilised as motivator to do better in matters #foodsystem, #resilience and #environmentalsustainability.
