The popular German street dish of currywurst is going upmarket with a restaurant in Bavaria now selling a luxury version that includes caviar and fresh oysters.
The Couple Deluxe meal for two, available at the Currywurst Bar in Nuremberg, comes with a sausage covered in tomato-curry sauce, topped with caviar and sides of four fresh oysters, truffle fries and a bottle of champagne.
The new luxury creation, costing €99, trumps the previously most expensive currywurst available at the Kempinski Hotel in Berlin, which for €23 only served the traditional fare of a sausage in curry sauce, with chips and bread.
