How to get Crystal Clear on What we Want From Our Life. (2024)

Life is full of so many opportunities, yet full of so many distractions that take us away from our true purpose. How often do you wake up, spring out of bed, and joyously head to your job, business or vocation? Do you have a crystal clear vision of what you want from you life or business? Often we move in a direction in our life that is either towards someone else's dream, for approval, to please others or for unethical reason's such as only material gain and power. It's important to truly understand the underlying factor of what drives us and then get crystal clear of what we want in life, but the question is: How do we get crystal clear on what we want?

1. Get away and in silence - In our age of distraction and busyness we don't get much alone time, which puts us in reaction mode most of the time. Being alone and in a quiet serene place allow's for us to listen to our inner voice, those inner feeling's, emotion's and idea's that come up when we are away and just with ourself. When I coach this is one of the first things I ask of my clients is to find time each day for silence and 'me' time, no distractions, just peace and quiet.

When we are in a tranquil state, for example, first thing in the morning this allow's us to listen and learn about ourselves, hear those ideas that come up, write them down, feel them deep inside ourselves and not just brush them off due to being in a reaction state. Tranquility is so powerful.

Action Step – Set aside 30 minutes a day to be alone, in silence, maybe its first thing in the morning, in evening or sometime in the day, my personal suggestion is first thing in morning as it set's you up for success and a powerful state. Morning reflection time is truly a life changing experience.

2. Journalling - The process of writing is so enlightening, some of the biggest revelation's have come from simply the pen and paper. The answer to all our problem's and challenges lies deep within us and when we write freely, our thoughts, feelings, emotions, gratitude and dreams are drawn out. This allows us to begin to shape a life that is aligned from within. Journalling is a deep growth process, when we truly want to get crystal clear on what we want in life, journalling is where its at, this is where we write down everything, we review and analyze everything we put down. Its often been said that if we just leave everything in our heads, plan from our heads and never write anything down, it doesn't allow for the deep inner messages to come out and it can be a major clutter up in there!

Action Step – During your silence part of your day have a journal handy and write down things that come to mind or inspire you. I'd recommend carrying around a small journal with you during the day to write down inspirations, ideas and messages that spring up. Some people use their phone's, which is okay, but there is something more powerful with a pen and paper beyond just typing on a phone.

3. Asking Powerful Questions – This is the third step to getting crystal clear on what you truly want in your life. It took quite some time for me to truly understand the power of questions, but when you use them daily its AMAZING how they can change your life. Good coaching is asking the right questions not just any, but the right questions, for the current situation to draw out the best answer's. If your life what questions are you asking each day, are they low grade questions like: Will I ever succeed? or, Am I ever good enough?, these questions bring on a very low energy state, we want powerful questions that change your state and draw out inspiring answers such as: What will make today amazing? What can I learn from this amazing experience? How can I get better? What do I need to do each day to be my absolute best? What person do I need to become to live at this level? What does my ideal life look like?

Action Step – Find a series of questions that best suit you and answer them in your journal. Getting crystal clear on what you want in your life comes down to asking the right questions, then spending time alone in silence listening to your heart and writing them down in your journal. I'd suggest picking 3 questions in the morning and answering them each day to get into peak state. If you want to really step to the next level look for a coach that is suitable for your goals and vision.

There you have it 3 step's to getting crystal clear on what you want from your life. The question is what will you do? Are you going to commit to spending 30 minutes a day in silence, maybe more, maybe less, if your having a challenge with 30 try 15 minutes, just start somewhere. Then proceed into the journaling process, along with asking the write questions. This process alone will change your life and deliver massive clarity on what you really want, then act!
