How to Watch Usher's 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show (2024)

The 2024 Super Bowl is just hours away, and while many will tune in for the football (or Taylor Swift), some just want to watch for the halftime show. The honor of performing this year's 13-minute-long show will fall to Usher, who follows in Rihanna's footsteps from last year.

"People will tune in for a football game, but I hope when they look at that halftime performance, I'm hoping they walk away with something that’s healing them," Usher said. "Something that makes them feel hopeful, and not just look at the past, but have hope for the future, and have hope for a different type of future than we’re looking at right now in the present."

In an interview with Vogue last month, he said, "I’ve been doing this for 30 years. I want people who have been a part of that journey to feel like it’s a celebration for everybody, for all of us, from the beginning up until this point." He added that the setlist was curated to have "R&B take the main stage," meaning, "not just R&B music, but R&B performance, R&B connection, R&B spirit."

The show is presented by Apple Music, the NFL, and Roc Nation, which was founded by Jay Z. "It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before," Usher said in a statement when his performance was announced. Jay-Z said, "Usher is the ultimate artist and showman. Ever since his debut at the age of 15, he's been charting his own unique course. Beyond his flawless singing and exceptional choreography, Usher bares his soul. His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can't wait to see the magic."

Kickoff for the Super Bowl takes place at 6:30 p.m. eastern time, so Usher will take the stage around 8 p.m. eastern.
