I live in Florida and I never cared for Detroit men. I don't think any woman would say, "Let me go get with a Detroit guy." That's so lame.

No, they don't. What have you even done to earn a woman's love??
I love my man and he is from Detroit - we met in LA and I guess we "work" because we're from similar places - I'm from Philly. But before him, I was not checking for Detroit men lol. Really was just trying to avoid men from LA.

Yes. Same as women that like men from NY, Philly, etc. They (we) have a certain grit and swag. And I think because folks have the notion DTW is a rough place to live they prolly associate that with masculinity

Never heard of anyone idolizing Detroit men. The majority of them don't have nothing going for themselves, their scammers or small time dope dealers
No! I met a man from Detroit in my city and we went out and he came off so tacky and uncultured. He worked in the entertainment industry and had traveled extensively because of that so his simpleness surprised me. I also hated his style. I could tell he thought he was really fly, and if it has been 2005, that may have been the case; but his look was really dated. He was handsome and seemed to have a bag but I couldn't get past the tackiness.

They remind me a lot of NY guys. Hypermasculine, inflated egos, very gritty personalities, bro-centered, but a lot meaner to women, even the one’s they’re objectifying or pursuing. For the reasons above, many of them that I’ve met give DL vibes, even if they aren’t.
That said, I met a really sweet guy who’s from Detroit. His family is from the south but he was born and raised in Detroit. Very respectful, kind, well-mannered, etc.

Detroit guys are hardworking. Can be standoffish and screw face if they don’t know you …but I like them. Mainly blue collar hard worker men. Can fix sh*t.

I ain't never heard of that either. New York? Yes. Detroit? No. That's new to me.

Bro-centered is real. My man loves his friends and has had the same group since elementary school. They have a group text thread that has been active for over 10 years. It's actually admirable imo

Nah I love the Caribbeans too much but if I did venture out I would like to try a Southern man from like Louisiana or something, my granddaddy was born in Georgia and raised in Florida. I miss him
