parboil first or throw in raw?

Thriw them in raw

no need to parboil if they're going to be slow cooked.

Theyt will not disentegrate unless you are constantly mixing the pot and breaking them up.

throw in raw but keep the pieces quite large, they'll be lovely when the stew's done.
