She was a 15-year employee of Travelers Insurance Company, Chicago and Naperville. Barb was a member and former president of the Women's Auxiliary of the Judd Kendall V.F.W. Post Naperville. She was the beloved wife of Larry A. Crabb of Naperville, whom she married Sept.
12, 1992; loving stepmother of Kelly (Hargis) Wilson of Elkhart, adored grandmother of Sean; devoted daughter of Lois (nee Faflick) Elchwald of Naperville and the late Kenneth R. Eichwald; dear sister ot Kenneth (Kathryn) Eichwald and Carole (Christopher) Hoppe, both of Naperville; and fond aunt of Katelyn and Terry Eichwald, Allison Hoppe and Kristen (Ryan) Johanneson. 23,1912, in Lawrence, she passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Canterbury Ridge Home in Urbana, III. Alice was a graduate of the University of Kansas in Lawrence. She also studied early child development at the Merrill-Palmer Institute In Detroit. She was a former 42-year resident of Libertyville, where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Alice was a member and sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Libertyville, and was a former director of the Libertyville Co-operative Nursery located in the church.
Surviving are her children, Ellen (Quazi) Ahmed of Newton Highlands, Jeffrey Davis of Naples, Peter Davis of Champaign, Jon Davis of Urbana, III. and Mary "Peg" Davis of Tucson, grandchildren, Riaz and Tara Ahmed, and Marja, Sabrina, Jeff, Pirkko and Alexander Davis; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lue Gary of Prairie Village, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Martha DeForest; her husband, Eldon Davis on May and her sister, Jean DeForest. and Ethel C. Woolf, she died Friday, March 14, 2008, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. She was raised in Wheaton and graduated from Wheaton Central High School in 1971. She graduated from Drake University with a B.A. In education in 1975, and earned a master's degree in education from National- Louis University.
She was a reading specialist at The Lane Elementary School in Hinsdale, III, She also taught In Naporville, Woodridge and other elementary schools in Hinsdale. Janice was a member of the International Reading Association and the Illinois Reading Council. She was the social chair of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority at Drake University. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church In Naperville, She was an avid reader, shopper, traveler and animal lover. She enjoyed her friends and family and was always the "life of the party." She is survived by her of 32 years, Robert; her children, John and Diana; her fattier, Irving W.
Woojf of Glen Ellyn; brothers, Pr. Irving A. (Elsie) Woolf of Maple grove, Dr. Alan (Linda) Woojf of Melrose, lite, and Pauj (Rebecca) Woolf of QaJs N.C.; and many nieces and nephews, She was preceded in death by her mother.
