The University of the Arts is an energetic and diverse community and a hidden gem surrounded by an environment and culture that remains passionate and highly supportive of the arts. Dedicated faculty, staff, students and alumni are offering new and unique experiences to help further develop artists, such as our student, who seek to create positive change. Our student has also been empowered to collaborate across multiple disciplines (including fine arts, design, film, dance, music, theater and creative writing). We all have experienced an exciting and vibrant energy both inside and outside the studios and performance spaces. Several facilities (including a new student center) went through major upgrades and additional renovations are on the way! We have also seen other patrons of the arts, committed to help ensuring future success of the school, dedicate some significant and impactful resources that will be used to help support the school's mission of advancing human creativity.

Art school is a scam. If you haven’t been preparing for a career in the arts since you were 5, or have connections within the industry, please do not go to art school, unless you’d like to be unemployed and in debt. Just look at the graduates on LinkedIn.
The campus buildings are run down, elevators and basic facilities are always broken, because most of your tuition is spent on marketing. Terra’s food caused rampant food poisoning, but Mangia has good food and the best staff.
Academics wise, you will receive very little technical knowledge for how much you are paying. Most of the professors push a liberal agenda, but there are some supportive professors that do impart solid knowledge.
On campus housing is a nightmare. Furness had roaches, rats and bedbugs. We were freezing in the winter. They should hire better RAs who uphold student regulations.
Since the campus is located in Center City, you will receive multiple reports of stabbings, rape, suspects with guns etc.

My classes are informative but the school is lacking in its dining options. Basically food could be better and the dining plan for freshman is way too much. Most people didn't finish using up all their dining dollars that don't roll over to the next semester. Dorm life could be better although the size of the dorms is good, other things such as the washer machines are always down, but good price for a University in a bigger city. Additionally, I think they should have an on campus store to buy discounted art supplies and not just merchandise. I bought all my art supplies from Blick which was out of pocket and time consuming. On another note I saw other schools in the area had art kits that could be another option which could be more beneficial since I could've just picked up a kit instead of separate items for my classes. Classes are challenging & very beneficial, and I improved a lot. My professors were engaging and very informative. They help all their students and deserve a raise!
