Empanadas are named after the Spanish verb 'empanar' which means to coat or wrap in bread.

An empanada is a fried or baked turnover in the shape of a half-moon made with flour dough or corn flour dough. You can stuff them with any number of things.

We make ours in various flavors: Beef, Chicken, Cheese, Mexican Chorizo, Lobster, Crab, Vegetable, Ham & Cheese, Guava & Cheese, Pulled Pork, Bacon Potato & Cheese, and Apple Cinnamon, and then enclose them in flour dough.

Empanadas are thought to have originated in Galicia, Spain. However, you will find that they are made by different cultures and go by various names. These are a few of the known names:
