Some lucky chap (or dame) is going to foot the bill for a very pricey Valentine's Day meal. The dinner featuring foie gras, risotto, and carbineros prawns with saffron, among other dishes, tops out at £61,000 (close to $100,000).

Luxury website VeryFirstTo.com collaborated with Michelin-starred chef Adam Simmonds on the extravagant 8-course feast to be prepared in the comforts of the diner's home. If you're not familiar with chef Simmonds, his philosophy, according to his website is, "You eat with your eyes first, then the aroma and burst of flavours hit you." Certainly Simmonds would like lovebirds sharing this romantic meal to employ the same approach, but in this case, after the burst of flavor, some may feel heart palpitations after seeing their hefty bill.

According to the Daily Mail, diners who can put up the cash will get to enjoy "almus white caviar worth £3,000, Natives South Sea oysters including pearls at a cost of £6,000, £2,000 worth of gold leaf and truffles costing £1,000." Meat eaters should expect no less than Wagyu beef, and lovers of truffles will not be disappointed with the Perigords that grace the salad topped with truffle honey.
Diners may feel a bit frisky after eating; many of the dishes feature ingredients that are considered aphrodisiacs. If the food doesn't do the trick, perhaps the atmosphere will: a rose petal-covered table, the release of a dozen white doves while a harpist plays, and a live poetry reading are all part of the experience.
No 8-course meal would be complete without perfect wine parings. The beverage list, crafted by Corney & Barrow, includes a £17,000 bottle of La Romanee-Conti wine and a magnum of 1976 Salon Blac de Blanc with a price tag of £3,000. The finale of the meal is Mast Brothers "reserve" smoked chocolate with kopi luwak ice cream. (A delicacy some may find offensive, kopi luwak are coffee beens with berries previously eaten and then excreted by the Asian toddy cat.)
Should this menu strike your fancy, the deadline for purchasing is February 11, 2014. VeryFirstTo also notes if diners who live outside the Greater London area make the trip to dine, "travel and accommodation costs will be added."
