A successful installation relies on a good preparation. Check those 8 tips before running in the woods.
1. Choose your SD Card
Choose a 2GB-512GB SD card, class 10 (the class is the recording speed of the card).
When you insert it in the FLEX, turn on the camera and press the "FORMAT" button to wipe the SD card clean. This will ensure optimal performance of the FLEX.
2. Pick the right batteries
Make sure you have new batteries from the same package. AA batteries should be of 1.5 volt. We suggest alkaline or lithium batteries. Rechargeable AA batteries, regardless of brand, WILL NOT WORK and MAY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE.
SPYPOINT sells the Rechargeable Lithium Battery Pack LIT-22. It will help you save from buy AA batteries. It is also more resistant to temperature changes, if you live in a cold climate.
If your device is far away from home, you can also use Lithium Battery Solar Panel (SPLB-22) and the 12 V Battery Kit for their longevity and reliability.
Be smart. Bring spare batteries as a precaution.
3. Don't forget the accessories
Make sure you have all the included accessories before going to your hunting site to set up the device.
4. Activate the camera
Make sure you have activated your cellular device with the application. Refer to the “FLEX - Step-by-Step Activation” page.
5. Get a strong signal
Check if your camera gets enough signal where you want to install it. If the signal lights indicate 1 or 2 bars, move it around and change the orientation until you get 3 bars and more. Avoid the dense area (thick foliage, concrete) and the bottom of valleys. A bad signal can affect the battery life.
6. Settings in the app
Adjust the settings on your device before you go to your hunting site.
7. Run a test on site
Put batteries in your device and make sure it turns on and functions properly. Check if the camera can transmit a photo by pressing the "TEST" button on the camera, before installing it.
8. Turn your camera off when moving it
Be sure to turn off your device once you have completed your tests. Keep your devices switched off during transport to avoid false detections that will unnecessarily drain the batteries.
