Born on June 19, 1951, in Mercer County, WV, James was the son of the late Charles Lewis Thomason and Mattie Lou Harman Thomason. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Lee Thomason, and two brothers, Robert Lewis Thomason, and Jerry Wayne Thomason. James was an avid fisherman. He had a love for music and spent much of his time playing his guitar. James enjoyed playing golf and chess. He made a difference in the life of everyone who knew him, and he leaves behind a tremendous legacy of life, love, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
