Hey y’all and welcome back to my Channel today I’m going to show you how I make potato soup using just a few Pantry items okay this is going to be very easy with simple ingredients and it’s going to taste really good we’re going to start by cutting five to six pieces of
Bacon like this mince three garlic cloves chop half of a large white onion and chop five scallions peel in dice 1 and 1/2 to 2 lbs of gold potatoes and then you need to sit them in some water so that they don’t oxidize next you will
Need to measure Out 3 cups of chicken broth now I didn’t have any in my pantry and that’s okay okay this is what I did instead I used 1 tbsp of chicken bullion powder a/ tbsp of onion powder and garlic powder mixed it into 3 cups of
Water until it was fully dissolved okay so if you don’t have chicken broth you can do exactly what I did but I do want you to start at a half tblsp of chicken B powder taste and adjust so I’m going to spray a little cooking spray in my
Pot and cook the chopped bacon on medium heat now when you cook your bacon start on medium heat okay you don’t want to cook this too fast you want to give it time to render out its fat you might even need to turn that heat down a
Little bit to medium low okay just to give it time to properly cook and not burn all right now after your bacon is done you want to remove from the pot we’re going to leave the fat in there add the chopped white onions and a/2 cup of those chopped scallions we’re going to
Cook until the onions are translucent then we’re going to add the chopped garlic and cook until it becomes very fragrant so now add a/ teaspoon of dried th one teaspoon of white pepper and just a pinch of salt mix it well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes then add three cups of
Chicken broth and 1 can of cream of celery soup if you have some on hand the celery soup is optional okay it will add more flavor to the potato soup however if you’re not a fan of it or if you don’t have any available then just leave
It out okay but if you do have it add it to the soup add two cups of whole milk and we’re going to mix it all together so now taste and adjust then add your potatoes you’re going to cover this uh with the with the lid slightly cracked
Okay we want to let some of that steam Escape we’re going to simmer on medium low heat until the potatoes are fork tender then we’re going to use a potato masher to mash up some of the potatoes in the pot and you’re going to do this to your preference all right and finally
We’re going to add a little corn starch slurry to thicken the soup I will leave the ingredients and measurements for this full recipe in the description box including how much I use for the slurry okay so this is a no flour no butter recipe we are thickening this soup with
Corn starch okay so here’s what my potato soup looks like I am going to go back in with my potato mash and I’m just going to smash up a few of these big potatoes and so far this is looking really really good so now it’s time to serve and enjoy
But first I’m going to add a few final touches such as fresh grated sharp cheddar cheese green onions cooked bacon and sour cream so when you make this make sure you add your toppings it is like the icing on the cake okay now if you enjoyed this video please smash the
Like button and if you try my recipe I really hope that you like it come back and let me know how your food turned out as always thanks so much for watching and I hope to catch you in my next video bye
