A shooting near Union Station in Kansas City, Mo., on Feb. 14 left one person dead and about two dozen wounded, including nine children. Most of the injured were struck by gunshots.

The eruption of violence came as thousands of people had gathered for a public celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl win, and transformed a day of joy and civic pride into one of loss and fear.

Here is what we know about the shooting so far:

Three men have been charged with murder.

Three Missouri residents have been charged with murder in the shooting.

Two men, Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays, were charged on Feb. 20. On March 21, a third man, Terry J. Young, 20, was charged. All three face counts of second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

On the day of the shooting, Mr. Miller and Mr. Mays began arguing as the rally dispersed, a dispute that quickly escalated when both men pulled out guns and began firing at each other, the authorities said.

Mr. Young was identified on video surveillance after the shooting, according to charging documents. As the argument unfolded, Mr. Young pulled out a gun, advanced toward at least one person and fired several times, the authorities said.

Nine people have now been charged as part of the investigation, which is ongoing, and additional charges are expected, prosecutors said.
